I LOVE YO – Aguirre Avenue, BF Homes Paranaque

The find. Last night, I had a facial and dinner which ended at 9pm. I wanted to eat my favorite treat but the yogurt shop in the mall closes at 9pm.I decided to forget about the yogurt and to check out BF homes for a spa treatment since I am so stressed lately. But first, I had to buy something from a drugstore. But about three buildings away, there I saw a very catchy signage...I LOVE YO. The shop is on a second floor of a bank and I got curious as to what the store is all about. Then, I saw photos of yogurt and toppings on the clear glass. I was so ecstatic. I asked the guard if it was still open for people like me who was starving for a cold, delicious dessert. Of course they were!

The experience. A big I LOVE YO signage at the entrance greeted me, as well as a server in an apron. The shop is so sleek and clean, has a restroom with simple furniture. There are four self-served yogurt stations with the following flavors: original, bubble gum, strawberry and vanilla. Just right beside the stations are the toppings and the cashier. There are so many toppings you can choose from, but personally, I liked the fruit toppings.

The price. Amount is Php 0.75 per gram. I was so excited pouring the yogurt and putting the toppings that I didn’t realize it was already very heavy. I had to pay over Php 200.00 for everything I got! Good thing, I never ever regret paying much for my fave dessert.

The story behind the store. I was taking photos when a guy named Ronnie approached me inviting me to “like” their shop in Facebook. I started conversing with Ronnie who happens to own I LOVE YO. He introduced me to his wife, Luchie, and took photos with them. They opened the store a month ago. Imagine, they are from Pasig yet they thought that the best area to set-up was in BF. They say that during weekends, there would be kids sitting on the floor, lines leading up to the ground floor and no space for eating. As an event organizer, no seats means a good problem. It means there are lots of people attending your event, and in this case, customers happily eating their product. Moreover, they are getting over 20 inquiries to franchise I LOVE YO! Wow!

The good find. I LOVE YO opens at 12:00NN and closes at 11:00PM on weekdays and 12:00AM on weekends. So far, this is the first shop I went to that is open ‘til those times. Plus points on the availability for the yogurt fanatics. As for the taste, Ronnie and Luchie said that they made sure that there is a balance of sweetness and tartiness--and I agree. The yogurt is not too sweet and not too sour. Just perfect for my tastebuds. And because of the couple’s warmth and accommodation, plus the nice glass windows, the view while eating your YO will definitely make you come back for more. So guys, if you want to check out shop, they are along Aguirre Avenue beside UCPB and across Ruins. Like their page, iloveyo.frogurt@gmail.com.

Yogurt – a dairy product produced by bacterial fermentation of milk.

My passion for yogurt began when we concocted the formula in one of my college science lab classes. It was weird to eat from something that spoiled! After two weeks of waiting, the experiment needed to be tasted. I didn’t think it would taste that damn good sweet and tangy. From then on, I started my love affair with yogurt – in cups, as drinks and in soft-served style.

Join me as I embark my journey in discovering the yogurt shops in the metro.
